ROSEVILLE — A 54-year-old Roseville man is facing a charge of murder for allegedly beating his 72-year-old housemate to death.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — West Bloomfield doctor Scott Henry Cooper, 61, was sentenced to five years in federal prison after pleading guilty to the unlawful prescribing of prescription drug-controlled substances, U.S. Attorney Dawn N. Ison announced in a press release Jan. 12.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — After investigating an incident Jan. 9 in which two Shelby Township police officers opened fire on a suspect, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office determined that the officers acted according to the law and their training and that no charges would be requested against the officers.

SOUTHFIELD — When asked about her favorite part of being a K-9 handler for the Southfield Police Department, Officer Ashley Daisley said, “Everything.”

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office has arraigned a 17-year-old on a second-degree murder charge in connection with an alleged drunken driving incident that caused a man’s death in Shelby Township Jan. 7.

FARMINGTON HILLS — On Dec. 18, Tiesha Johnson, 55, formerly of Farmington Hills, was arraigned in 47th District Court in Farmington Hills on charges of fraudulently obtaining Paycheck Protection Program loans and Economic Injury Disaster loans from the federal government, according to a press release from the Michigan Attorney General’s Office.
