WEST BLOOMFIELD — The West Bloomfield Police Department dispatch center received a call around 5:00 p.m. April 11 that a crime was in progress at a Verizon Wireless store located at 4301 Orchard Lake Road in West Bloomfield, according to a press release from the WBPD.

NOVI — A 95-year-old woman has been sentenced to nine months of home confinement for running over a Novi woman with her car, killing her, after a crash last October.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — A 33-year-old man from Harper Woods faces five felony charges in connection with a number of vehicle break-ins and theft in Bloomfield Township.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A 31-year-old New Baltimore man was arraigned last month in connection with fleeing police March 16 in Shelby Township.

WARREN — A former Detroit Police officer who allegedly sent inappropriate text messages to a 12-year-old has received additional charges and was bound over to Macomb County Circuit Court.

FERNDALE — The Ferndale Police Department responded to shots fired in the downtown area in the early morning hours of April 13.

WARREN — A Warren man has been accused of alleged sexual contact with a dog.

OAKLAND COUNTY — A local physician who provided medical assistance to youth hockey teams recently pleaded no contest to 28 counts, including for charges of criminal sexual conduct and sexual abuse.

BERKLEY — A Berkley man who had charges in multiple cities for sexual assault now faces more charges in Berkley.

KEEGO HARBOR — Keego Harbor City Council members voted unanimously to authorize the contract for Robert Barnes to be the city’s police chief and swore him into office at their meeting March 20.

HAZEL PARK — A young man was hospitalized after his father pulled a gun and shot him during a heated argument in Hazel Park.
