FRANKLIN — The village of Franklin is getting ready to show its spooky side with its annual FranklinStein Frenzy Halloween event.

The frenzy will take place between noon and 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, throughout downtown Franklin. It is organized by Mainstreet Franklin, a community group that seeks to maintain the historical nature of the village and encourages business opportunities there.

DETROIT — The Capuchin Soup Kitchen of Detroit is inviting members of the community to help it in its mission of feeding and serving the underprivileged by joining it at the 45th annual Support Our Capuchin Kitchen fundraiser.

The SOCK fundraiser will take place between 5:30 p.m. and 12:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 27, in Cobo Center’s Grand Riverview Ballroom. It will include a dinner and a silent auction followed by an afterglow reception.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — Autumn hues and seasonal harvest favorites will be on hand during the Harvest Festival, the last weekly event of the 2017 Shelby Farmers Market season at the Packard Proving Grounds.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, the Shelby Farmers Market will feature an array of farmers and vendors, as well as live music and free tours of the historic site, rain or shine.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — Trick-or-treating and Halloween fun returns to St. Clair Shores this month with the St. Clair Shores Activities Committee planning its annual Halloween Fun Fest Oct. 29 at Veterans Memorial Park.

With cider and doughnuts, trick-or-treating for children 12 and younger who are accompanied by an adult, music, hayrides, kiddie rides, a petting zoo and bounce houses, it’s something the committee spends nearly an entire year getting ready for local children.
