SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Shelby Township Police Department is searching for a suspect who broke into a party store in Shelby Township.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A local activist believes he was wrongly arrested and charged for exercising his right to protest in Shelby Township in 2020. Two years later, the claim is headed to federal court.

EASTPOINTE — An Eastpointe man who police said escaped while being transported hours after his arraignment in the 38th District Court has been apprehended.

WARREN — On July 23, someone riding a stolen dirt bike attempted to flee from police. He crashed and may now lose his leg, said Warren Police Deputy Commissioner Bob Ahrens.

WARREN — A Warren man is facing charges after being involved in an overnight standoff with Warren police last month.

WARREN — The bonds set for two suspects following a shooting at a Warren gas station earlier this month have been increased after Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido said he was “outraged” over the low amounts set by a visiting judge.

HAZEL PARK — A woman’s car was stolen after she was allegedly confronted by three masked gunmen late at night in Hazel Park — one of whom reportedly fired a gun as she fled on foot.

EASTPOINTE — Friends and family members of two people who were fatally wounded, allegedly by a neighbor, at an apartment complex on 10 Mile Road in January reached an emotional breaking point in 38th District Court Aug. 4 when a police detective testified that the defendant had later told the detective that the two victims didn’t deserve to die.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP —  A public safety millage renewal in Bloomfield Township, which also includes a millage increase, got the green light from voters Aug. 2.

EASTPOINTE — A state representative who had his identity stolen allegedly by an Eastpointe man said he was “shocked” when he found out about the theft.

ROCHESTER HILLS — A man accused of stealing deposits from prospective business owners after their deals failed is facing prison time.

WARREN — A man is dead and another is in jail after a hit-and-run crash Tuesday morning.

WARREN — A Warren man is facing charges in an Oakland County court for allegedly forcing a minor to engage in commercial sex.

HAZEL PARK — Officials say work has begun cleaning out a home in Hazel Park where the owner was found dead amid squalid conditions earlier this month.

HAZEL PARK — Earlier this year, two men were shot dead in Hazel Park. One of the suspects is now in custody, with two men still on the run.
