GROSSE POINTE CITY — Michigan law defines a high blood alcohol level as 0.17% or greater — which is just over twice the legal limit. One Grosse Pointe City driver is said to have far exceeded that, having a blood alcohol level of 0.41% — or more than five times the legal limit.

ROCHESTER/ROCHESTER HILLS — Deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office are investigating after a woman’s body was found in a car parked at McGregor Elementary School in Rochester Hills on Sept. 17.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A Shelby Township man was arrested in Shelby Township for his seventh drunken driving offense.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A judge in 54-A District Court in Ingham County dismissed felony charges against 15 residents, including Shelby Township Clerk Stanley Grot, who were accused of attempting to falsely certify Donald Trump as the state’s winner of the 2020 U.S. presidential election.

WARREN — A Warren man is facing a total of eight charges for allegedly possessing child sexually abusive material.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — The Macomb Township Board of Trustees approved the hiring of a new full-time firefighter at its Sept. 10 meeting.

EASTPOINTE — Devonte Pace, the McDonald’s customer who did all he could to stop the attack on Jennifer Harris July 10, was recognized last month for his actions. At the Aug. 19 City Council meeting, Police Chief Corey Haines presented Pace with the Police Citizen’s Award.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — A boat explosion in a St. Clair Shores harbor sent its occupants flying, causing minor injuries and the death of a beloved pet.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — On Aug. 31, a Harrison Township business caught fire causing massive plumes of smoke in the sky and significant damage to the building itself.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — According to a press release from the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, a Harrison Township woman was bound over for trial in Macomb County Circuit Court on a second-degree murder charge on Sept. 5.
