SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Shelby Township Board of Trustees is offering residents a chance to help determine the township’s top 10 priorities for 2023.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — On Sunday, Oct. 2, Roseni Salon & Spa in Washington Township hosted “Take a Cut out of Cancer” to benefit 13Forever, a Michigan nonprofit that aims to fund cancer research and support local organizations helping in the fight against pediatric cancer.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — Two Eisenhower High School and Utica Center for Science and Industry sophomores have earned $10,000 in scholarships through the Games for Change Student Challenge.

UTICA — Utica police said that an attempted retail fraud Sept. 12 turned into a chase after the suspects hit a police vehicle while trying to get away.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP/UTICA/STERLING HEIGHTS — The annual Band-A-Rama, which features performances from all four Utica Community Schools marching bands, will take place at 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, at Runkel Field, 39701 Dodge Park Road in Sterling Heights.

But on Tuesday, Aug. 30, county officials broke ground on a project to replace the aging facility with a brand-new headquarters for the Marine Division.
