METRO DETROIT — As Memorial Day approaches, local communities are preparing to pay tribute to veterans who died while serving their country. The following are some of the parades, ceremonies and more held on and before the national holiday, which this year is Monday, May 26.
 

Berkley

Ferndale
106th annual parade at 10 a.m. May 26, starts near Livernois and Maplehurst streets, marches north to Oakridge Street, west to Pinecrest Drive, south to Nine Mile Road, east to Livernois and south to Memorial Mall, then ceremony with reading of local veterans who died in past year, ferndalememorial.org/memorial-day-parade


Franklin
