BERKLEY — A potential threat of violence led to an investigation by local police that eventually cleared any involvement at schools in Berkley.

BERKLEY — After extinguishing a fire at an office building last week, the Berkley Public Safety Department is reminding people to use caution with lithium-ion battery chargers.

ROYAL OAK — An 83-year-old man was killed on Oct. 24 following a report of a man calling for help. 

EASTPOINTE — The suspect in the stabbing death of a Detroit man has been bound over to Macomb County Circuit Court. 

NOVI — A Novi man, in need of a new vehicle following a car crash on Oct. 25, decided to take the ambulance on the scene for a spin, resulting in a fiery crash a few miles later, according to Novi police.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — According to a press release from Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel’s office, a St. Clair Shores man was sentenced on Oct. 22 for alleged double-voting crimes committed in 2024. 

EASTPOINTE — There was an extra police presence Oct. 23 at Pleasantview Elementary School after a parent allegedly threatened an employee and the school community Oct. 22.

CENTER LINE — Criminal charges have been brought against a woman who crashed her car into a Center Line home earlier this month. On Oct. 13 at approximately 2:55 a.m., 20-year-old Caris Adell Wade, of Detroit, allegedly crashed her vehicle into a residence at the Kramer Homes Co-Op in Center Line, near MacArthur Boulevard and O’Hare Street. 

ROSEVILLE — The suspect in an officer-involved shooting that took place in Roseville earlier this month remained in critical condition Oct. 23, and the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office investigation found no evidence to charge the officers for their decision to fire.

MOUNT CLEMENS — On Oct. 22, Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham and Prosecutor Peter Lucido released the name of the suspect in the alleged attempted murder of a Macomb Township businessman earlier this month and outlined the charges he now faces.

ROCHESTER HILLS — A 20-year-old motorcyclist from Rochester Hills was killed Oct. 4 in a traffic accident.

TROY — A suspect has been arrested in a stabbing incident that occurred in late August. 

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office announced Oct. 19 that an arrest has been made in the alleged attempted murder of a Macomb Township businessman earlier this month. The arrest was scheduled to be addressed at a press conference at the Macomb County Jail on Oct. 22.

TROY — Troy ended the summer with a charity softball match between the city’s police and fire departments. 

WEST BLOOMFIELD — Greg Flynn, the chief of the West Bloomfield Fire Department, briefed the township’s Planning Commission Oct.14 on updated plans for Fire Station No. 1.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A man was charged for allegedly stealing an iPad during a Facebook Marketplace exchange in Shelby Township earlier this month.

TROY — Members of a crime syndicate involved in the theft of hundreds of vehicles in the tri-county area were recently sentenced after their arrests by local law enforcement agencies. 

TROY — A former bank employee faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted of siphoning funds from the accounts of her clients. 

ROCHESTER HILLS — A former Rochester Hills doctor has pleaded no contest to a slew of sexual assault charges.

ROCHESTER — The Rochester Police Department recently welcomed a new comfort dog to the team. Leo, a 12-week old Cavalier King Charles spaniel, has arrived and is under the care of Lt. Keith Harper.
