FRASER — A student group based out of Fraser High School and Richards Middle School was recently awarded a $10,000 grant to help combat bullying and promote mental health among local teenagers.

TROY — Troy and Athens high school students showed off their school spirit this month with their Activist Week and Charity Week programs, spirit weeks in which they raise money for worthy nonprofits.

CENTER LINE — There have been many building updates and renovations in the Center Line Public Schools district in recent years, and there are more to come.

According to an email sent by principal Colleen Maciejewski to St. Germaine Catholic School parents, a proposal has been made to save the school which is slated to close by the end of this academic year.  The proposal was written by Michael Kaddis, a parent at St. Germaine.

FARMINGTON HILLS — The Farmington Hills Police Department began a criminal investigation of a Farmington Public Schools employee Jan. 31 after hearing a report that the employee allegedly had solicited “inappropriate” photos of a 13-year-old female student, according to a press release from the city of Farmington Hills.

CENTER LINE — A 15–year-old Center Line High School student is facing a 20-year sentence after he allegedly made a bomb threat at school Feb. 8.

TROY — Citing economic challenges and the quest for talent retention, Walsh College and the Troy Chamber of Commerce have joined forces to launch what they are calling the Preferred Education Partnership, a program aimed at supporting businesses and nurturing and retaining talent within Michigan, they said.

WARREN — Educators in the Fitzgerald Public Schools and Warren Consolidated Schools districts are reminding parents to talk to their students about making good choices after a pair of school threats this month.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Macomb Community College will host a high school esports tournament Feb. 16 for Macomb County high school juniors and seniors.

ROCHESTER — Residents of the Rochester Community Schools district will vote on a possible renewal of the school operating millage Feb. 27.
