WARREN — Two suspects allegedly stole more than $25,000 worth of jewelry from a local store on March 28 and were later arrested.

According to Warren police, the two suspects were allegedly posing as customers in a jewelry store located in the area of 13 Mile Road and Hoover Road. They allegedly left the store without paying for items. Officers were dispatched to the store just before noon after employees alerted the police, where they gathered evidence including descriptions of the suspects and their vehicle.

The information was relayed to patrol units in Warren and surrounding jurisdictions.  Officers from the Hazel Park Police Department reportedly located the suspect vehicle traveling south on Interstate 75. The vehicle was occupied by a man and a woman, according to Warren police. Based on the description of the people involved in the jewelry store theft, Hazel Park police were able to identify the man and woman in the car as fitting that description. The officers recovered all the alleged stolen jewelry and large amounts of cash, according to a written release.

Warren police were called to the scene, arrested the suspects, and transported them to the Warren Police Department’s jail for follow-up investigation.
