SHELBY TOWNSHIP/STERLING HEIGHTS — Police from Shelby Township and Sterling Heights are being congratulated for their recent work leading to the Oct. 23 arrest of a suspect who allegedly violently abducted a man while outside a Shelby Township gym.

FRASER — At its regular meeting on Sept. 14, the Fraser City Council approved a measure to purchase a Flock Safety camera system to aid the city’s police force in its investigations.

ROSEVILLE — The Roseville Police Department and Roseville Community Schools are working together in an effort to keep students as safe as they can.

NOVI — Novi police believe they have found the person responsible for writing a threatening note that was found in the bathroom at Novi High School Oct. 6. Police said there also was a threatening email received soon after the note.

FARMINGTON HILLS — A Farmington Hills resident was arrested after allegedly making threats toward residents in Dearborn.

FARMINGTON HILLS — On Oct. 18, Farmington Hills resident Brian Roussey, 31, was sentenced to 128 days in jail and two years of probation for three counts of organized retail fraud.

STERLING HEIGHTS — The Sterling Heights Fire Department is aiming high in its new multiyear strategic plan, which contains a vision to make it “the premier provider of emergency services in the country.”

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — The Harrison Township Fire Department’s personnel received an overhaul from the township’s Board of Trustees earlier this month, with four members receiving promotions and one new firefighter getting approval to join at the Oct. 10 meeting.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP —  An 18-year-old man has been accused of a summer crime spree targeting multiple cars and homes in Bloomfield Township and Troy.

WARREN — Five people were injured and transported to the hospital after a three-car crash at the intersection of Van Dyke Avenue and Chicago Road at around 5:15 p.m. on Oct. 15.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — A man has been arraigned for allegedly murdering his mother-in-law in her Shelby Township home Oct. 12.

WARREN — A Hazel Park man was arraigned on charges in 37th District Court in Warren on Oct. 3 for his alleged role in the stabbing death of his wife of 15 years.

ROSEVILLE — The Oct. 14 Roseville Fire Department open house has been canceled.
