BERKLEY/BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP/GROSSE POINTE CITY — A Berkley man who had charges in multiple cities for sexual assault now faces more charges in Berkley. But it was a teen from Grosse Pointe City who first reported that she had been assaulted by the suspect, paving the way for more teens to do the same.

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — Shelby Township police arrested two suspects who were allegedly breaking into homes in the township while residents were away.

STERLING HEIGHTS — A Sterling Heights man is facing up to 75 years in prison after being found guilty by a jury of sexually assaulting a minor.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — At approximately 9:35 a.m. Feb. 13, dispatch from the West Bloomfield Police Department received multiple calls about vehicles that had been broken into overnight.

WEST BLOOMFIELD — Although some residents of Bloomfield On The Green were recently able to return home after a fire started at the apartment complex March 17, others remain displaced.

METRO DETROIT — A Warren man was arraigned in the 37th District Court March 12 for his alleged role in multiple thefts, which targeted vehicles in Warren.  He faces similar charges in Washington Township.

DETROIT — A Warren man was sentenced to a year in federal prison for his role in painting racist graffiti on a predominantly Black church in Roseville.

TROY/MACOMB TOWNSHIP — A 25-year-old resident of Troy was shot in the parking garage of Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital March 20.

At a press conference held in Pontiac March 12, Oakland County Prosecutor Karen D. McDonald announced collaborative efforts between her office and local law enforcement agencies to make the public aware of human trafficking through “illicit” massage parlors.

Terrence Harrington, a 40-year-old suspect tied to numerous larceny and fraud cases across multiple states, was apprehended by the Troy Police Department’s Special Investigations Unit, in collaboration with multiple law enforcement agencies.

NOVI — A Commerce Township man will serve life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2021 murder of his wife, an employee of the Novi Community School District.

GROSSE POINTE CITY — Retirements bring more than new hires — they also mean promotions. And with multiple promotions happening at the same time, the Grosse Pointe City Public Safety Department held a special ceremony Feb. 26 at The War Memorial in Grosse Pointe Farms to mark this important occasion.

SOUTHFIELD — At 1:30 a.m. March 2, Southfield Police Department officers were dispatched to a hotel located on the Northwestern Highway service drive after a clerk at the front desk reported that a woman approached the front desk and said she was fearful of her boyfriend.

ROSEVILLE — The Roseville City Council recognized retiring Roseville Police Department reserve officers John Palimino, Lonnie Scheuer, Patrick Veo and Gary Lyons at its meeting March 11. Roseville Police Chief Mitch Berlin presented each member with a baseball cap and a plaque.

ROYAL OAK — A 14-year-old suspect was taken into custody March 4 following a string of auto thefts in the Royal Oak area.

TROY — Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced charges against the owner of the Oxford Center and three employees in connection with the death of 5-year-old Royal Oak resident Thomas Cooper.

ROCHESTER HILLS — Police are investigating after a bullet was found in a classroom at Van Hoosen Middle School March 11.
