Berkley High football coach Chris Sikora made sure his team wouldn’t be looking past Southfield-Lathrup in their Division 2 playoff opener.

Just two weeks ago, the Bears had beaten the Chargers 41-0 in the regular season.

“As soon as we saw that we drew Lathrup, given Week 8, Lathrup turned the ball over left and right in that game,” Sikora said. “It was kind of like what we did against Groves (a 47-14 loss). We knew that wasn’t a good representation of who we were. We kind of said the same thing about Lathrup.”
