As Troy Athens volleyball coach Christine Stanichuk said, it was too little, too late in the Class A regional semifinal.

The Red Hawks fell to Utica Stevenson 25-16, 25-13, 26-24.

“We battled back, but you don’t want to be down the first two games and then have to try and fight back. Stevenson was tough. They played great,” Stanichuk said. “We went in there confident; I’m not taking anything away from my team.”

In the final game, there were 18 ties and nine lead changes. Athens led 19-14 at one point.
