WARREN — Two Pontiac men face charges in the 37th District Court after an alleged race led to a police chase and a crash that killed a mother of two on June 29.

MOUNT CLEMENS — Macomb County Public Works Commissioner Candice Miller recently delivered an update alongside representatives from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers about the lyngbya “muck” found along the shores of Lake St. Clair.

WARREN — A 9-year-old boy was rescued from the pool at the Kings Pointe Apartments on June 17 after reportedly spending several minutes underwater.

WARREN — Fitzgerald Public Schools will again host Meet Up and Eat Up meal sites this summer, offering breakfast and lunch at no charge. Look for the district’s food truck in the parks.

WARREN/MOUNT CLEMENS — A jury in Macomb County Circuit Court convicted a Warren father of child abuse on June 5 after a six-week trial.

WARREN — Nearly 50 area seniors gathered for a visit to the Detroit Institute of Arts on May 30 and enjoyed a Motown concert followed by a self-guided tour of the museum. The free event was hosted by the Warren Civic Center Library and sponsored by the DIA.

WARREN — Two brothers were arraigned in the 37th District Court on June 5 after they allegedly beat a man and left him unconscious in the street following an argument about money.

CENTER LINE/WARREN/STERLING HEIGHTS — With cheers, hugs and tears, high school graduation is a bittersweet time.Emotions can run high as parents can’t believe their children grew up so fast, and teachers have to say goodbye to students.

MACOMB COUNTY — Carmella Sabaugh, who spent decades serving the public as the Macomb County clerk/register of deeds, is being remembered for her public service and tireless work ethic.  A family press release was issued June 10 stating Sabaugh died on June 8 at the age of 85.

WARREN — On May 24, state Rep. Mai Xiong, D-Warren presented an automated external defibrillator to Warren Woods Tower High School.
