One dead after apartment shooting in Troy

TROY — A 25-year-old man is in custody following a shooting that left another man dead at an apartment complex in Troy.

Police said they received a 911 call at 3:45 p.m. Nov. 7 reporting a shooting inside a residence in the Charter Square Apartments, near the intersection of Big Beaver Road and Rochester Road.

Upon arrival, officers located a deceased male victim with multiple gunshot wounds. They said the caller provided suspect information, and the suspect was immediately located in the complex parking lot and taken into custody without incident.

“The investigation on the events leading up to the shooting is ongoing,” the police said in a press release. “Preliminary information indicates this is a domestic incident where the two subjects involved knew each other. Officers recovered one handgun at the scene. This shooting appears to be an isolated incident. There is no threat to the public.”
