WARREN — In the Warren Weekly’s coverage area, Warren voters will be among those electing a candidate to represent District 13 in the Michigan House of Representatives this winter.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — On Feb. 27, voters in the Lake Shore Public Schools district will consider a non-homestead tax renewal in the amount of 19.3227 mills, with 18 mills being the maximum levy for the next 10 years.

METRO DETROIT — Governor Gretchen Whitmer has issued a call for a special election to fill the Michigan House of Representatives seats vacated by newly elected Warren Mayor Lori M. Stone and Westland Mayor Kevin Coleman, who represented District 13 and District 25, respectively.

FERNDALE — A recount was initiated and completed for the Ferndale City Council election, and the result remained the same.

GROSSE POINTE FARMS/SHORES/WOODS — Voters in Grosse Pointe Farms, Grosse Pointe Shores and Grosse Pointe Woods also cast ballots for the Nov. 7 election — they just had fewer choices than their neighbors in the City and Park.

ROCHESTER HILLS — Bryan Barnett was sworn in for his fifth term as the mayor of Rochester Hills Nov. 15.

ROCHESTER HILLS — Voters in Rochester Hills overwhelmingly decided to renew the millages that fund police service.

TROY — The voters of Troy have cast their ballots, and the results are in for one heavily contested race and one uncontested.

SOUTHFIELD — Southfield voters chose a new clerk on Election Day, and they also voted to maintain the ability to choose the next one.

CLAWSON — The officials elected Nov. 7 in Clawson shared their thoughts on the charter amendment that voters also approved.

ROYAL OAK — Royal Oak voters hit the polls Nov. 7 and reelected the city’s longtime mayor while also selecting some fresh faces for the City Commission.

GROSSE POINTE PARK — In another hotly contested local election cycle, Grosse Pointe Park voters chose to retain Mayor Michele Hodges and named two newcomers to the City Council. They also just said no to marijuana — marijuana businesses, that is.

BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham residents approved a senior millage Nov. 7 and rejected a marijuana proposal at the polls.

WARREN — On Veterans Day, Nov. 11, a ceremonial swearing-in was held for the newly-elected Warren public officials at City Hall.

ORCHARD LAKE — There will be two new voices on Orchard Lake’s City Council as Kelly Mandel and David Steuer each won their respective election bids in the general election Nov. 7.

KEEGO HARBOR — On general election ballots Nov. 7, voters in Keego Harbor had two amendments and one new ordinance to consider, and whether to allow marijuana facilities in the city was the common theme with each of them.

FARMINGTON HILLS — A mayoral race and three open seats on the Farmington Hills City Council were all decided Nov. 7.

FERNDALE — The city of Ferndale made history Nov. 7 as it elected its first Black mayor.

BERKLEY — For the first time in its history, Berkley will have a Black City Council member.

MADISON HEIGHTS — Five proposed amendments to the charter of Madison Heights passed with overwhelming support Nov. 7, updating how the city approaches everything from appointments and resignations to the rules of running for office and how often meetings are held.
