EASTPOINTE/ROSEVILLE — Several Roseville and Eastpointe teachers are being honored for their passion in the classroom.

ROSEVILLE — The Roseville City Council held a ceremony at its March 25 meeting honoring members of the Fire and Police departments for their quick response to a stabbing.

METRO DETROIT — Rat poison, while effective at getting rid of a rodent problem, can have adverse effects on creatures that aren’t meant to get their claws on it.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — At its meeting March 17, the St. Clair Shores City Council received a progress update on the library. It is scheduled to go through extensive renovations in September, closing it temporarily from the public.

FARMINGTON HILLS — Farmington Hills City Council members met for a study session March 24 to find solutions to reduce the deer population in the community.

MACOMB COUNTY — For the first time in several years, Macomb Community College students will not see an increase in their tuition for the next academic year.

WARREN — With plans for the U.S. Navy to expand its fleet of submarines to further support national security, the Navy has called on Macomb Community College to help achieve that goal.

STERLING HEIGHTS — A Sterling Heights man is facing up to 75 years in prison after being found guilty by a jury of sexually assaulting a minor.

STERLING HEIGHTS — For nearly 100 years, the Capuchin Soup Kitchen has fed the hungry in Detroit. It’s challenging work, strained by cost increases due to inflation, supply chain issues, uncertain federal funding and growing demand as more people need help. Last year, its pantry provided 3.4 million pounds of food — a 24% increase from 2023.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — According to a press release sent by the Macomb County Department of Roads, bridge replacement work is planned for South River Road in Harrison Township, over the channel to Lake St. Clair.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Officials have a plan to expand the township’s park space, but will they get the grant funding needed to make it happen?

MOUNT CLEMENS — As the saying goes, the 20th time’s the charm. On March 17, the Mount Clemens City Commission unanimously supported a grant application to replace the Crocker Boulevard bridge spanning the Clinton River.

MACOMB COUNTY — As the temperatures rise, local fishing stores prepare for the new season by stocking up and hoping for good weather.

MOUNT CLEMENS — At the Mount Clemens Wastewater Treatment Plant, sewage dumping has long been handled in a laborious and outdated way. But as of mid-March, its management has been mechanized.

WARREN — The Warren Community Center auditorium was bustling on March 25 as many in attendance at the City Council meeting waited to comment on the future of marijuana dispensaries in the city. The Warren City Council passed a resolution to change its marijuana ordinance with a 5-2 vote.

MOUNT CLEMENS — It has been a long time coming, but now it is here. Beginning the week of March 24, work on Mount Clemens’ Downtown Revitalization Project is underway.

HAZEL PARK — State Rep. Mike McFall (D-Hazel Park) is one of two representatives recently named “Legislator of the Year” by the Michigan Municipal League during its 2025 Capital Conference, also known as CapCon.

MADISON HEIGHTS — Those interested in giving a cat a home — or temporarily fostering one while it awaits adoption — are invited to the second annual Kitten Shower.
