Playoff schedules set for local boys soccer squads

FRASER/CLINTON TOWNSHIP — The boys soccer district playoffs are set to begin for teams across the state, including Fraser High and Clinton Township Chippewa Valley.

At press time, Fraser was 5-11-3 overall and 0-9-3 in the Macomb Area Conference White Division.

The Ramblers play in a first-round matchup at 6 p.m. Oct. 10 against tournament host Warren Cousino.

The winner of that game advances to a semifinal at 7 p.m. Oct. 15 against either St. Clair Shores Lake Shore or St. Clair Shores Lakeview.

The other teams in the district are Sterling Heights High, Roseville High and Warren De La Salle.

The final is at 5 p.m. Oct. 18.

Last season, De La Salle beat Fraser 7-1 in a district semifinal.

At press time, Chippewa was 12-3 overall and tied for first place with Utica Eisenhower with a 7-2 record in the MAC Red.

After a first-round bye, Chippewa plays at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at tournament host Macomb Dakota against either Port Huron Northern or Dakota.

The other teams in the district are New Baltimore Anchor Bay, Harrison Township L’Anse Creuse, Port Huron High and Macomb L’Anse Creuse North.

The final is at 6 p.m. Oct. 16.

Last year, Chippewa’s season ended with a 2-1 loss against De La Salle in a district final.

At press time, Sterling Heights Parkway Christian was 1-9-1 overall and 1-7 in the Michigan Independent Athletic Conference Red Division.

After a first-round bye, Parkway plays at 7 p.m. Oct. 16 against tournament host Madison Heights Bishop Foley or Royal Oak Shrine in semifinal competition.

The other teams in the district are Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett and Bloomfield Hills Roeper.

The final is at 1 p.m. Oct. 19.

Last season, Shrine beat Parkway 9-0 in the first round.
