Local soccer squads wrap seasons in districts

When the final whistle blew, all the local soccer squads wrapped their seasons in the district portion of the state soccer tournament.

In Division 1, Royal Oak High saw its season end in the form of a 3-2 loss to Farmington Hills Harrison in a Oct. 20 district semifinal. The Ravens won their Oct. 18 district opener 1-0 over Waterford Mott to advance to the semifinal.

In D-3, Clawson High, which defeated Harper Woods High 4-0 in its Oct. 17 opener and Macomb Lutheran North 3-0 in an Oct. 19 semifinal, lost to Beverly Hills Detroit Country Day 4-0 in their Oct. 21 district final.

In D-4, Royal Oak Shrine Catholic bowed out of the tournament after a 3-1 loss to the West Bloomfield Frankel Jewish Academy.
