Clinton Township Chippewa Valley football will attempt to increase its win streak to 17 when the defending Division 1 state champions play at 7 p.m. Sept. 13 at home against Utica Eisenhower.

After winning all 14 of its games last year, Chippewa is off to a 2-0 start this season, with the program’s latest triumph coming via a 54-6 victory coming against Roseville High Sept. 6 at home.

Eisenhower improved to 1-1 after beating Warren Cousino 44-0 last week. That victory came after the Eagles lost to Birmingham Brother Rice 7-0 in the opening week of the season.

It will be the first Macomb Area Conference Red Division matchup for both teams this season.

Last year, Chippewa broke a five-game losing streak against the Eagles with a 42-24 victory during the regular season, which was followed by a 34-7 win when the programs matched up in the playoffs.

Eisenhower leads Chippewa 35-8 in all-time games played between the two programs.

Chippewa has qualified for the playoffs in each of the last seven seasons, with Eisenhower having made it to the postseason in all but one year since 1999.
