Fraser vs. Grosse Pointe North: Scheduled for 7 p.m. Sept. 4 at Fraser

While conference games often carry a lot of significance, this Week 3 matchup may be particularly important for Fraser. A loss to Grosse Pointe North would bring the Ramblers' record to 0-2 in the Macomb Area Conference Blue Division and 0-3 overall.

A win, on the other hand, could change the dynamics of Fraser's season, as it would give the team a 1-1 record in the MAC Blue, with a chance to improve its overall record to .500 next week against Sterling Heights Stevenson.

Fraser lost its opening game to Utica 28-21, before being defeated by Warren Cousino 38-28 Sept. 4.

North will come into the game with a 1-0 record in the MAC Blue and 1-1 overall. The Norsemen followed up a 34-12 loss to Hartland in the opening week of the season with a 31-28 victory against Roseville Sept. 4.

Fraser's chance for a victory could depend heavily on how well its defense, which includes defensive end Walter Davis, and linebackers Dominic Mielke and Mike McTigue, can contain North running back Latorris Greer, whom North head coach Frank Sumbera referred to as one of the top running backs, "not only in our league, but in the state of Michigan."

North won last season's game 14-13.
