Woman reports man touched her leg, exposed himself

SHELBY TOWNSHIP — The Shelby Township Police Department is investigating a report of indecent exposure and assault that took place at 9:15 p.m. Aug. 26 on 22 Mile Road, near Shelby Road.

The victim reported that a silver vehicle with black trim followed her from River Bends Park. She said the car passed and stopped in front of her, then a man exited the vehicle and walked to her vehicle, reached inside and touched her leg.

The woman said she then noticed that the man was exposing himself. The woman tried to leave, and the suspect tried to get into her car before she was able to escape. The suspect fled the area.

The woman described the suspect as a black man around 26 years old who stood about 6 feet tall with a thin build and shaved hair. His vehicle may have had a partial license plate number of “BGM” or “BGJ.”
