MACOMB TOWNSHIP – A two-vehicle crash left one young man dead and another injured.

Macomb County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Renee Yax said that at approximately 2:05 a.m. May 18, deputies were called out to the area of 24 Mile and Card roads with a report of a traffic crash involving two vehicles.

Shortly after arriving, Anthony Harris, 21, of Washington Township, was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

Yax said a 19-year-old man from New Baltimore was driving a gray 2007 Dodge Caliber east on 24 Mile that collided with a silver 2011 Audi A4 that was heading north on Card Road, driven by Harris.

The driver of the Caliber was transported to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Harris was a Warren De La Salle Collegiate graduate.

A May 20 tweet from De La Salle states “The De La Salle Collegiate community is deeply saddened by the loss of Anthony Harris '15, who died in an auto accident on Saturday. We ask that you keep his family in your prayers.”

Both men were wearing seat belts. It is unknown at this time if alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash. The Macomb County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident.
