CLINTON TOWNSHIP — An investigation into the death of a local motorcyclist is ongoing.

Clinton Township Police Capt. Bruce Wade said that at approximately 3:26 p.m. Oct. 13, police responded to Little Mack Avenue and Finley Street for an injury accident. It is a subdivision located south of 15 Mile Road, between Gratiot Avenue and Groesbeck Highway.

A motorcycle reportedly traveling southbound on Little Mack struck a pickup truck turning westbound on Finley.

The driver of the motorcycle, identified as a 19-year-old man from Warren, was transported to McLaren Macomb Hospital, where he later died from sustained injuries. His name was not released.

The driver of the pickup truck did not sustain any injuries, police said.

A preliminary investigation does not suspect any drugs or alcohol as being the cause of the crash, though speed was deemed the “contributing factor.”
