Suspects wanted in holiday convenience store robbery in Southfield

SOUTHFIELD — Southfield Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating two men wanted for a Christmas Eve armed robbery.

According to a news release from acting Chief Nick Loussia, the incident occurred at around 3:20 a.m. Dec. 24 at the 7-Eleven at 26355 Telegraph Road.

Loussia said that shortly after two teens entered the store, one of them pulled a white mask over his face and the other jumped over the cash counter. He grabbed the clerk, pointed a knife at him and forced him to open the cash register.

The clerk opened the cash register and then fled from the store. He was not injured in the incident.

A short time later, both teens were observed running from the store with an unknown amount of cash from the register.

The first suspect is described as a black male between 5 feet 11 inches and 6 feet 3 inches tall. He has a medium build and is between 16 and 19 years old. His hair was styled into short braids or twists, and he was wearing a dark green jacket with “New York” written on the back.

The second suspect is described as a black male between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall. He has a thin build and is between 15 and 18 years old. During the robbery, he was wearing a dark-colored North Face brand jacket and a green backpack.
