Southfield Police investigate shooting

SOUTHFIELD — Police are looking into a recent domestic shooting.

According to a news release from acting Southfield Police Chief Nick Loussia, police are investigating a shooting that occurred at around 9 p.m. March 27 in the 16500 block of North Park Drive.

Loussia said that based on a preliminary investigation, police believe a 44-year-old man shot a 37-year-old woman one time, and then shot himself.

Police said the two are married but separated, and were still seeing each other.

Both people were transported to a hospital, where the man was pronounced dead.

The woman was in critical condition at press time.

Loussia said the investigation is ongoing.
