St. Clair Shores Police are looking for at least one man responsible for robbing a man when he returned to his home on Alexander Street March 3.

The 47-year-old resident of the 22000 block of Alexander Street arrived home from a Warren pool hall around 9 p.m. and went inside his house, said Detective Lt. David Centala.

Police said the man was speaking with his fiancé and young son in the kitchen of the home when he heard the front door open and a man enter the home. The suspect is described as a black male in his early 30s, between 6-foot and 6-foot 2-inches tall, about 200 pounds, wearing a black knit hat and dark clothing.

The man pointed a thin-barrel black handgun at the victim and told him to empty his pockets. The suspect gathered the items and then forced the victim outside of the residence. The suspect then ran away eastbound on Alexander.

“We believe the homeowner was followed home and he was targeted, for what reason we don’t know,” said Detective Gordon Carrier. “He forced his way in ... demanded money and then fled.”

Carrier said the suspect got away with the victim’s cash and wallet, but took nothing else from the home.

An eyewitness told police that they saw a 1998-2001 model year silver Cadillac slowly cruising the area before the incident. Police said there may also be a second car involved.

“There was a second car that waited on Alexander, east of Jefferson, that we believe ... may be involved,” Carrier said.

Surveillance video from a neighboring home showed the suspect parking three houses east of the victim’s house, then walking west toward the home. The video also showed a second vehicle.

“This does not appear to be a random act,” Centala said.
