ROSEVILLE — Roseville police are searching for a thief who stole a Salvation Army red kettle collection bucket from outside a local Walmart.

The incident took place at approximately 7:07 p.m. Dec. 5, at the Walmart located at 28804 Gratiot Ave. According to investigators, the bell ringer collecting at the site had stepped away for a moment, and while he was away, the thief cut the security wire on the bucket and fled with it.

An undetermined amount of money was inside the bucket at the time of the theft.

Police said Dec. 6 that they had identified a suspect who was recorded on the store’s security cameras during the theft.
