Car battery jumper, office supplies stolen from unlocked car

ROYAL OAK — A complainant reported that sometime between 6 p.m. May 5 and 7 a.m. May 6, an unknown suspect stole a car battery jumper and miscellaneous office supplies from his unlocked car, which was parked in the 700 block of Millard Avenue, near Rochester and 13 Mile roads.

 

Police issue citation for retail fraud at Holiday Market

ROYAL OAK — At approximately 3:20 p.m. May 6, officers responded to a report of a shoplifter being detained by store security at Holiday Market, 1203 N. Main St., north of 10 Mile Road. Officers issued the suspect a citation for retail fraud for allegedly attempting to steal $84 worth of groceries.

 

Police arrest suspect for attempted home invasion 

ROYAL OAK — At approximately 7:15 a.m. May 5, Royal Oak police received a report of a possible burglary in progress in the 1100 block of Ottawa Ave., near Rochester and 14 Mile roads.

The resident told responding officers that a man had just tried to break into her house, and officers located the intoxicated suspect a block away, according to the police report.

Police said that officers detained the man to investigate and learned that he had attempted to force entry into the resident’s home, damaging her rear door. Police arrested the man for attempted home invasion, according to the report.

 

Police make arrest for retail fraud, drug paraphernalia at CVS

ROYAL OAK — At approximately 6:55 p.m. May 4, officers responded to a report of a shoplifter who had fled from CVS, 30900 Woodward Ave., near 13 Mile Road. Officers reportedly located the suspect nearby, found him to be in possession of approximately $48 worth of stolen liquor and miscellaneous merchandise, and arrested him for retail fraud and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

Police called for 5 instances of retail fraud at Meijer

ROYAL OAK — At approximately 1:45 p.m. May 6, officers responded to a report of a shoplifter being detained by store security at Meijer, 5150 Coolidge Highway, north of 14 Mile Road. Officers issued the suspect a citation for retail fraud for allegedly attempting to steal $98 worth of food and merchandise.

At approximately 3:45 p.m. May 5, officers responded to a report of a shoplifter who had fled from Meijer. Officers located the suspect walking southbound on Coolidge and detained him to investigate. They learned the suspect had allegedly attempted to steal approximately $400 worth of clothing and electronics, and they arrested him for retail fraud.

At approximately 1:45 p.m. May 5, officers responded to a report of a shoplifter being detained by store security at Meijer. Officers arrested the suspect on two charges: possession of drug paraphernalia and retail fraud for allegedly attempting to steal $95 worth of liquor.

At approximately 10:15 a.m. May 3, officers responded to a report of a shoplifter being detained by store security at Meijer. Officers issued the suspect a citation for retail fraud for allegedly attempting to steal $60 worth of clothing, food and alcohol.

At approximately 8 a.m. April 30, officers responded to a report of a shoplifter being detained by store security at Meijer. Officers issued the suspect a citation for retail fraud for allegedly attempting to steal $60 worth of socks and T-shirts.

 

Motorist crashes through bay door

ROYAL OAK — At approximately 9 a.m. May 2, an employee arrived to work and discovered significant damage to a large bay door that serves as a vehicular entrance into an enclosed locker facility at EZ Storage, 25538 Woodward Ave., north of 10 Mile Road.

Royal Oak police responded and discovered a suspect sleeping in her car within the facility. Video surveillance showed that she was a customer who had used her car to ram through the bay door approximately 12 hours earlier, according to the police report.

Officers placed her under arrest for malicious destruction of property over $20,000, according to the report.

 

Police arrest irate customer at G&S Market

ROYAL OAK — At approximately 4:50 p.m. May 1, a complainant called the Royal Oak Police Department to report an irate customer at G&S Market, 25851 Woodward Ave., north of 10 Mile Road.

The caller reported that a customer had just damaged approximately $40 worth of merchandise and left the store on foot. Police quickly located the suspect and placed him under arrest for malicious destruction of property and a felony warrant, according to the police report.
