Roseville police find man dead from self-inflicted gunshot wound

ROSEVILLE — Roseville police responded to reports of a man who had shot himself May 29, on Dort Street west of Berkshire Street. 

The officers arrived on the scene at approximately 3:34 p.m. On the side of the street, they found the body of a 23-year-old man dead from what they said appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The department said that officers secured the area, including the gun, and immediately ensured that all of the nearby residents were safe. The Roseville Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division was investigating the situation.

Roseville Community Schools were contacted due to the incident being close to Dort Elementary School and on a school bus route. They were advised that there was a police situation on Dort Street, but that there was no danger to families or staff.
