ROSEVILLE — The Roseville Police Department was dispatched to an address in the 28000 block of Floral Street, near Groesbeck Highway and Martin Road,  at approximately 8 p.m. Dec. 26 to check on an occupant of a home described to them as “despondent.”

Police said a negotiator and an emergency response team were dispatched when the occupant did not respond to calls to exit the residence. Although police added that the man was reported to have a handgun inside, they said they never considered it a barricaded-threat situation, and no threats were made with regard to the firearm.

At approximately 8:50 p.m. the same night, the occupant was taken into custody without incident and was transported for medical and psychological evaluation.
