ROSEVILLE — If you’ve ever visited American House East I on Common Road, you probably have come across resident Carol Huck.

She has been a resident there for 25 years, including when the senior living community was known as the De Seranno Residence.

On Aug. 30, a luncheon was held to honor Huck for all that she does for the residents and staff of American House East I, which is sometimes referred to as the “Belgian Castle” because of its architecture.

Huck is known as the “face” of American House, as she has worn many hats for 25 years while making friends with other residents and staff along the way. She is the acting eucharistic minister and handles bookkeeping at the community’s St. Rene Chapel.

She also runs the community’s library and weekly resident bingo. As part of the New Resident Welcoming Committee, she is usually the first person new residents meet.

“She always has a smile on her face and a kind word to share,” Community Relations Director Jade McCollister said in a prepared statement. “We are so thankful to have Carol as a resident and look forward to enjoying many more years with her.”
