ROSEVILLE — The Roseville Fire Department responded to a house fire at approximately 8:30 a.m. Oct. 6 in the 28200 block of Maple Street, which is north of Martin Road and west of Gratiot Avenue.

Roseville police said that one of the two residents of the home, a 75-year-old woman, died. Another resident, a 42-year-old woman, was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

“The resident of the house that was transported to a hospital is still being treated for non-life-threatening injuries,” Roseville Deputy Police Chief Donald Glandon wrote in a press release Oct. 8.

The incident is under investigation.

“The cause and circumstances of the fire have yet to be confirmed by investigators,” Glandon stated in the press release.

He stated that there was no one in custody related to the incident.

“As with all such investigations, there are several steps involved prior to being able to draw a conclusion related to the incident,” he stated.
