Roseville police are seeking information on a man who apparently tried to break into the Kroger gas station at 30200 Gratiot Ave. Feb. 6.

According to a press release by Roseville Deputy Police Chief Don Glandon, the perpetrator approached the gas station apparently from a field to the east off Beaconsfield on a bike at about 3:45 a.m. Surveillance footage reportedly showed the suspect remove a large rock from a black plastic bag that had been attached to the bike's rear rack and hurl the rock at the gas station’s glass.

The perpetrator was able to break only the outer layer of glass after multiple attempts; he was unable to gain entry to the gas station. He then fled northbound from the gas station.

The perpetrator was described as an older white man with brown hair who was wearing light blue jeans and a dark blue or black winter coat that had a white or silver stripe on the sleeve and a lighter blue section on the sides. The bicycle was described as a white mountain bike with black forks, a rear rack, high handlebars and a high seat.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Roseville Police Department at (586) 775-2100, or (586) 447-4492.
