Sterling Heights police say they are investigating a domestic dispute in which a male suspect apparently shot a woman and killed himself Nov. 6 in an industrial area.

According to Sterling Heights police Lt. Mario Bastianelli, police arrived at around 8:30 a.m. to the 40800 block of Enterprise Drive, located near 18 Mile Road and Van Dyke Avenue. He described what police investigated as an attempted murder/suicide.

“Upon arrival, our officers discovered two people shot in the parking lot,” he said. “One was deceased, and the other one was injured.”

Bastianelli said the woman was given medical care and was transported to a hospital, where she last was reported in stable condition. He said police could not publicly identify the man or the woman, or where they have been residing.

Police said the man had a handgun, and Bastianelli said the situation was “a domestic between the two,” whom he described as boyfriend and girlfriend. Police said they couldn’t reveal where the woman had been shot.
