Police investigate shots fired in Harper Woods neighborhood

HARPER WOODS — Harper Woods police officers responded to reports of shots fired at 7:24 p.m. April 11 in the 19700 block of Damman Street, which is near Beaconsfield Street and Huntington Avenue.

Upon arriving, officers observed several people fleeing the area. The officers took control of the scene and began investigating.

At least 20 shell casings were recovered from different weapons in the street and outside a nearby residence. At least two residences in the area sustained damage from the gunfire, but there were no reported injuries, according to police.

The Harper Woods Department of Public Safety took three suspects into custody and stated on Nixle.com that it is actively searching for several additional suspects related to the incident.
