Police investigate drive-by shooting in Ferndale

FERNDALE — The Ferndale Police Department is investigating a drive-by shooting on Almont Street.

Officers were called at 2:29 a.m. Aug. 5 to the area of Almont Street near East Nine Mile Road for possible gunfire, which the investigation later confirmed and revealed was a drive-by shooting. According to Community Engagement Officer Jill Mahlmeister, multiple shots were fired at a home.

“At the time, the house was occupied by two adult females and a 15-year-old female,” she said. “There were no injuries and the suspect fled the scene.”
