Over 40 shots fired in late night shooting in Southfield, suspect sought

SOUTHFIELD — Police are looking for a suspect in connection with a recent late night shooting.

Deputy Chief Nick Loussia, of the Southfield Police Department, said in a press release that around 12:50 a.m. July 20, police were dispatched to a hookah lounge on Northwestern Highway, on a report of a possible shooting.

When police arrived, they located one victim, a 21-year-old man from Detroit, who had suffered a gunshot wound to the shoulder.

Loussia said the victim was treated at the scene by paramedics before being transported to a local hospital, where he was treated and discharged.

The victim told police that several patrons were kicked out of the location due to a fight around 12:45 a.m.

Officers who responded to the scene located over 40 shell casings in the parking lot, Loussia said.
