SOUTHFIELD — The Michigan State Police are investigating a freeway crash that killed one person last week.

According to Lt. Mike Shaw, of the MSP, police responded to the crash at around 8 a.m. April 2 in the southbound lane of the Lodge Freeway, just south of Telegraph Road.

Shaw said a gravel hauler lost control, spilling its load across the freeway.

The driver of the truck, a 55-year-old man from Westland, was killed in the crash.
