MOUNT CLEMENS — Macomb County Sheriff Anthony Wickersham said last week that a 44-year-old Clinton Township man was in critical condition after being shot Dec. 26 in Mount Clemens.

Wickersham said deputies responded to the 100 block of South Main Street at approximately 1:28 a.m. in response to a man being shot. Deputies reported that the victim was lying unconscious on the ground when they and paramedics arrived.

The victim was transported to the McLaren Macomb Medical Center. His name had not been released at press time.

Wickersham said on Dec. 27 that a suspect was in custody and that investigators were working with the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office on filing formal charges.

According to the report, a preliminary investigation revealed that the victim and the suspect were in the same apartment prior to the shooting.
