CLINTON TOWNSHIP — A man has been arrested and charged after allegedly planning to meet an underage girl for sexual activity in exchange for illegal drugs.

On Jan. 23, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office stated in a press release that Daryl Johnson, 23, of Eastpointe, allegedly issued an advertisement via social media in which he sought to have sex with an underage girl. The Sheriff 's Office’s Macomb Area Computer Enforcement, or MACE, unit reportedly responded to Johnson’s advertisement Jan. 18.

Johnson allegedly indicated that he wished to have sexual intercourse in exchange for illegal drugs. He allegedly listed sexual acts and sent nude photos of who he claimed was himself. A meeting was reportedly set up for Johnson to meet with a “young female.”

On Jan. 19, Johnson reportedly arrived at the meeting place in a Ford Crown Victoria, just as he originally indicated. He was arrested in the driveway of the meeting place. The suspect was allegedly found to possess numerous condoms, though no illegal drugs.

He was arrested and lodged at the Macomb County Jail. On Jan. 22, he was arraigned in 41-B District Court in Clinton Township on two felony counts of child sexually abusive material — each punishable by four years — and one felony count of using a computer to commit a crime, which is punishable by up to seven years.

Johnson is due back in 41-B District Court Feb. 5 for a probable cause conference. His bond was set at $100,000. Johnson filed for a court-appointed attorney, and no other information was immediately available.
