Carol Giardini, who has lived in St. Clair Shores since 2008, on a recipe she makes often to take as hostess gifts.

“I found this recipe, maybe online. I go online so much for recipes.

“It’s so good. It’s easy to make (and) people love it. I make it a lot when I go to somebody’s house and I want to bring something quick and easy, (for) showers, birthday parties. It’s nice to bring something when you come into somebody’s house.”

• 22 graham crackers
• 2 sticks of butter
• 1 cup of packed brown sugar
• 1 cup of chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a 10-by-15-inch cookie sheet with foil, lightly sprayed with cooking spray. Place graham crackers on sheet, touching each other. In a small pot, over low heat, melt butter, then add brown sugar and pecans. Bring to a boil, stirring for two minutes. Spread mixture over crackers evenly. Bake for 10 minutes. Cut in squares while still warm. Store in an airtight container when cool.
