STERLING HEIGHTS — Even if a new car doesn’t fit on your Christmas shopping list, local dealerships say they sell other items and merchandise that could please fans of certain automakers and brands.

According to staff at Dean Sellers Ford in Troy, the dealership offers vehicle accessories such as special floor mats and vehicle remote starters that can be activated by cellphone.

Chuck Barr, parts manager at Dean Sellers Ford, said products like all-leather floor mats and heated seats tend to sell better around the holidays. He explained that cargo liners that fit in the back of SUVs are also popular, and so are crossbars that fit on the front or back of a larger vehicle.

“What they do is they make it accessible for any type of luggage carrier, ski rack or bike rack,” he said.

By using a catalog, shoppers can buy shirts with Ford logos and other merchandise, Barr said. For people who are more interested in the gift of performance, custom wheels or turbochargers can also be installed onto vehicles, he explained.

In addition, on websites such as accessories.ford.com or merchandise.ford.com, Ford fans can find everything from apparel to seasonal items like blue Santa caps. Stuffed animals, jigsaw puzzles and diecast cars round out some of the toy-like merchandise.

In addition, General Motors has plenty of Chevrolet merchandise at www.chevrolet.com/chevy-merchandise.html and at www.chevymall.com. Products include polo shirts, hoodies, posters, pendants, signs and a C7 Corvette Stingray wireless USB mouse. Even office chairs and sofas are available.

Meanwhile, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles loyalists can check out Jeep jackets, shirts, backpacks, duffel bags and more at www.gear.jeep.com. Collectibles from Mopar are available at www.wearmopar.com.

Al Laity, service director at Rochester Hills Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, said his dealership sells Jeep brand merchandise such as hats, shirts, trinkets and keychains. He called the Jeep brand a big seller, especially among off-road enthusiasts.

“People like to buy them for stocking stuffers and that sort of thing,” he said.
