My classic car today was for sale on 10 Mile and Mound Road. On her way home from work, she, my wife, Diane, noticed it and said, "We have to go look at this car on 10 Mile Road." We did and Diane, my wife, bought this 1957 Ford Gasser for me back in 1973 from Edward Johnson, the original owner. It was named Dirty Daddy, as pictured with Edward Johnson.

Edward back in the '60s and '70s raced this car at Detroit Dragway. He was able to buy a Ford Cammer 427 cubic inch engine to race and compete with other Gasser owners. (Gassers were drag racing cars that ran on gasoline as opposed to race fuel.) We bought the car without the drivetrain; Edward would not part with the engine or transmission.

Today, many years later, I put a drivetrain and transmission in it and cruise the streets and shows to show its beauty and its history. This was a true Gasser and I’m so proud to show and talk about its history! So many guys have recognized my classic and say, "That was Dirty Daddy, Edward Johnson’s car," and the stories escalate from there! One guy named Rick noticed the car and shared how he, at 18 years of age, built the rear bumper in Edward's garage — the history goes on! This '57 Ford Gasser is a one-of-a-kind! It's historic and unique!
