Police have found a former Oakland University student just hours after he was reported missing.

The student, 25, was picked up by Bloomfield Township police sometime between 5 and 6 p.m. Aug. 6 at a local gym, according to OU Director of Media Relations Brian Bierley.

He was reportedly banned from campus, and was previously last seen on Oakland University’s east campus on Saturday, Aug. 3. His family members say he may be suffering from mental health issues and may also have access to weapons, causing OU officials to alert the public early the afternoon of Aug. 6.

Police said the man is currently homeless and does not have access to any vehicles.

By 6:30 p.m. the Oakland University Police Department issued an all-clear advisory regarding the safety alert, stating that the man is currently receiving support services.
