In hopes that someone will recognize the suspect, police released images from surveillance video of a man who allegedly robbed the Charter One Bank Feb. 13.

The incident took place at about 5:30 p.m. when a man walked into Charter One Bank, 19307 Mack, handed a teller a robbery note and then left with an unknown amount of cash.

The suspect walked out to a white sedan, which had been parked outside the bank, and fled in the vehicle, according to police information. The sedan possibly was a Chevrolet Monte Carlo.

At press time, police were working on the case and asking anyone with information to call.

“We don’t want anyone to try to apprehend him,” Grosse Pointe Woods Public Safety Director Bruce Smith said. “Just give us a call.”

The suspect is described as a black man between 30-40 years old. He stood about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighed 250-275 pounds. At the time of the robbery, he was clean-shaven. He was last seen wearing a multicolored hat; glasses; a black, waist-length Carhartt jacket with a hood; dark pants; and he might have been wearing work boots, according to police information.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
