HARPER WOODS — On the evening of Sept. 11, the Harper Woods Department of Public Safety received information that a student at Chandler Park Academy allegedly made threats to shoot students in the school.

According to the department, Harper Woods detectives located and arrested the juvenile in the early morning of Sept. 12 in Detroit, prior to his arrival at school. Police said the student was not armed when arrested and investigators confirmed there were no firearms recovered from the juvenile’s home in Detroit.

The student was placed in the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility and charged with making a terrorist threat. His identity has not been released due to his being a minor.

The police said that Chandler Park Academy administrators were advised of the threat immediately and assisted with the investigation.
