WARREN — A resident told police she was confronted by two men who robbed her of her purse and phone as she was returning to her apartment near 11 Mile and Dequindre roads early Jan. 8.

Detective Sgt. Robert Eidt, of the Warren Police Department, said the woman, 22, arrived at her building in the 27200 block of Parkview Boulevard at 12:50 a.m., where she was robbed.

“It looks like a female arrived at the building, parked on the north side of the building in the north lot and walked to the doors, at which point she heard footsteps coming up behind her,” Eidt said. “The suspect grabbed her purse, attempted to pull it away from her. At that point, she noticed that the suspect had a handgun.”

The woman reportedly told police she let go of the purse and the suspect ran off. She said a second suspect approached and took her phone before he ran in the same direction as the other suspect.

Eidt said responding officers deployed a K-9 unit and were able to track the suspects to a spot where it is believed they entered a vehicle.

The robbery remained under investigation at press time.

The men were described as black, in their 20s, and wearing all dark clothing. The first suspect was about 6 feet tall and thin. The second suspect was described as about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium build.
