CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Residents might need to change their yardwork plans to comply with a new noise ordinance passed by the Clinton Township Board of Trustees at their meeting June 26.

MACOMB COUNTY — In a time where finances are all over the headlines, two of the region’s most prominent politicians took time in late June to discuss the state of Macomb County’s economy.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — It was a finance-heavy session of the Macomb Township Board of Trustees on June 14 as water rates, budgets and other projects were handed by trustees.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — At their June 19 meeting, the St. Clair Shores City Council appointed Renae Warnke as the new finance director in a 7-0 vote.

MADISON HEIGHTS — Cheryl Rottmann, the city clerk of Madison Heights, will now take on a dual role as the deputy city manager. The appointment follows the retirement of the previous deputy, Corey Haines, who was also the police chief.

ST. CLAIR SHORES — The St. Clair Shores City Council approved the city’s budget and other agenda items at a city council meeting on June 5.

WARREN — Mayor James Fouts blasted his adversaries, lauded his accomplishments, spoke about the future of the city and endorsed candidates at his last State of the City address, on June 22 at Andiamo Warren.

MOUNT CLEMENS — The Mount Clemens City Commission took a step in expanding the city’s recreation offerings at its June 19 meeting, giving the green light to apply for a Michigan Department of Natural Resources Spark Grant.

NOVI — State Rep. Kelly Breen, D-Novi, is working alongside Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, a Republican, to weed out the wrongful use of the animal tranquilizer xylazine, which is sometimes called “tranq.”

OAKLAND/MACOMB COUNTIES — Since 1974, the Area Agency on Aging 1-B, based in Southfield, has aimed to assist older adults and people with disabilities, as well as providing support to family caregivers in Southeast Michigan.

EASTPOINTE — Last month, city officials welcomed a new member to the team.

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — The Harrison Township Board of Trustees turned its attention to the Fire Department at the board’s June 12 meeting, focusing on both personnel and equipment needs of the department.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — Various items pertaining to life in the township were addressed by elected officials at the Clinton Township Board of Trustees meeting on June 12.

WARREN — Warren City Council President Patrick Green has demanded the resignations of City Attorney Ethan Vinson and City Clerk Sonja Buffa after last month’s Michigan Court of Appeals decision that will allow him to finish his term on council.

OAKLAND COUNTY — Last November, local residents approved the Oakland County Public Transportation Millage, which authorized the county to levy a millage for the purpose of funding transportation services throughout Oakland County.

MOUNT CLEMENS — Goodbye green trucks, hello yellow. Mount Clemens residents will soon see Priority Waste’s trucks rolling down their streets after the City Commission granted the company a contract as its residential waste hauler on June 5.

CLINTON TOWNSHIP — The Clinton Township Board of Trustees have updated the terms of the George George Park construction project, approving the changes at its May 30 meeting.

HAZEL PARK — Hazel Park’s tax rate will decrease slightly with the budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, due to a small change in the amount levied for economic development and the city’s Downtown Development Authority.

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP — Bloomfield Township was awarded $4.4 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds, and township officials have recently decided how the money should be used.

MACOMB TOWNSHIP — As Macomb Township arranges its budget for the coming year, the township board of trustees approved changes on May 24 to make sure the past year’s finances were accurately reported.
